Sunsets: one of my favorite things ever.
People usually like sunsets because of their pretty colors and the vibes of them but there’s so much more to these beautiful views than just their physical appearance. Let’s talk about them and make you fall in love with something you’ll look forward to every single day.Â
What are sunsets?
They’re the end of the day, the beginning of the night, and the trust that the sun will rise again. I believe that sunsets are proof that even endings, no matter how bad they are, can be beautiful too. With endings come new beginnings, with bad days come great days, and with all this come new opportunities, people, and ideas.Â
Autumn is yet another perfect example. It represents the circle of life - with the colors changing and leaves falling, the colorful scenery painting away at the landscape, come brown and barren trees. But it’s the leaves falling that makes room for new leaves to grow and for the tree to rejuvenate, letting the next autumn be just as beautiful.
As a child, I used to ask why people would become friends only to grow apart. I would wonder why we were even given this life if all that’s going to happen is death. I wondered why endings even existed. But now I love them because it’s not the end of something, it’s the beginning of something else. I’ve learned not to cry because something’s over (although I do cry, and that’s ok :)) but rather smile because it happened.Â
Although it’s the end of the day, a little twinkle of a smile would creep onto my face when I’m looking at the gorgeous gradient of the sky during a sunset, not a feeling of sadness or anger. Just pure happiness.
Because I believe that endings can be beautiful too.Â
It just depends on how you look at them.Â
Thanks for reading! I hope that the next time you see a sunset, you’ll think of me, and smile. Much love <3
