hi beautiful person —
it’s been a very long time, i hope you’re doing well and that your holidays were joyful. and welcome to 2023 :)
but first, a reflection of 2022:
wherever you ended your year, and how much ever you accomplished, gained, or lost, i am SO proud of you. congratulations on making it through another 365-day journey, i am so glad you are here.
the past year was full of ups and downs and a lot of memories were made. but through it all, we learned a lot, grew a lot, and become a whole new version of ourselves that we didn’t realize along the way.
take a look back. see how far you’ve come. then go find a mirror, smile at yourself, and give yourself a hug. once again, i’m so proud of you.
to start the new year off with tons that we want to change and accomplish has become a norm in our world. january 1st is here! new year, new me, right? as much as i want to say yes, because this is quite literally what i’m doing (lol!), it doesn’t have to be this way.
and, moreover, nothing is going to happen overnight. as nice as that would be, we can only take on so much. so instead of diving into the climax of the new chapter headfirst, we must remember that that’s not how a story arc works.
take your time to build up to the place you want to be in. reaching success is like learning to walk — you take a couple of steps and then you fall, but then you get back up. getting back up is important, but learning why you fell so that you don’t do it again is what matters even more.
we have 365 days. that’s 8760 hours and 525, 600 minutes. that is a whole lot of time to be better, get better, and do better. so for now, soak it in. plan it out. and when you’re ready to begin, take a deep breath, and start walking.
i can’t wait to see where 2023 will take you. i hope this is one of the best years of your life, and that your dreams come true. here’s to me, to you, to us, and to the world…
love and cheers,
apuroopa
